【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementscovertheperformanceofandmethodsfortestinghydrantsemployedinpipingsystemssupplyingwaterforfire-protectionservice.1.2Hydranttypescoveredbythisstandardinclude:a)Basevalvedesignwithamainvalveofeitherthecompressiontypeopeningwiththepressureoragainstit,orgatetypewiththeoutletsindividuallyvalvedorwithoutvalves;andb)Wetbarreldesignwithoutletsindividuallyvalved.1.3Requirementsfortheinstallationanduseofhydrantscoveredbytheserequirementsinclude,amongothers,theStandardfortheInstallationofPrivateFireServiceMains,NFPA24.1.4Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthoseinusewhenthestandardwasdeveloped,andthatinvolvesariskoffire,electricshock,orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingtheappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementsasdeterminedbytheintentofthisstandard.
