【摘要】:Theconditioningprescribedinthisrecommendedpracticeisdesignedtoobtainreproducibletestresultsonthermalinsulatingmaterials.Resultsoftestsobtainedonthesematerialsunderuncontrolledatmosphericconditionsarenotcomparablewitheachother.Someofthephysicalpropertiesofthermalinsulatingmaterialsareinfluencedbyrelativehumidityandtemperatureinamannerthataffectstheresultsoftests.Inthisregard,suchinformationisprovidedinpertinentmaterialspecificationsandtestmethodsbystatingthephysicalpropertiesrelativetothespecificambientortestconditions.Note18212;Insomecases(forexample,dimensionallyunstablematerials),thedrymasscannoteasilybeestablishedandoriginalmasshastobeused.1.1Thispracticecoverstheconditioningofthermalinsulatingmaterialsfortests.Sincepriorexposureofinsulatingmaterialstohighorlowhumiditywillaffecttheequilibriummoisturecontent,aprocedureisalsogivenforpreconditioningthematerials.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
